Integration with AWN?

Asked by Andrew Starr-Bochicchio

Any plans to merge your recent work with the Affinity applet for awn?

Thanks for reviving this project!

Yes, but I don't know exactly how. I'm thinking about checking if libawn exists in autogen.sh, and then creating and installing the applet. Affinity does this with the gnome-panel applet, and I think that's what gimmie does too. The other method would be adding dbus functions that the awn applet will use, but I don't know how to do dbus. (I looked at the tutorial but was completely lost.) I don't think what is being done with Affinity now is possible because now there's a separate 'libaff' library, along with separate files for plugins, and I think that would be too much for awn-extras. (Though I could be wrong.)

Thanks for your interest in Affinity. :)

P.S. Sorry I didn't reply sooner. I just saw this today. :)

There's now a new Affinity applet as of r153. See the forum thread:

How exactly would Affinity integrate with Do/Docky? IIRC, Do wasn't going to having applets like Awn.
