I am trying to install Chrome on a new Ubuntu & need password

You have to reset your password if you forget it.

My nephew rebuilt my old machine so I could get away from Windows XP. I am very pleased but have a lot to learn

I got the password and think I was even able to turn it off. I am the only one using this computer.

I still have a problem installing Chrome. It is in my downloads but just spins round and round, not installing. I am a long time Chrome user and would really like it back.

Any idea why chrome is not installing?

There are two ways to install Chrome:

1. Download the software package from the google site:

http://chrome.google.com

You will need the 32bit Debian/Ubuntu version.

2. Install Chromium a version without the Google branding that is
re-distributed by Ubuntu:

https://apps.ubuntu.com/cat/applications/chromium-browser/

Follow this link and click on the "available in the software center"
button.
