A way to search for tasks, or edit newly created ones?

Asked by antonvaltaz

If I create a new task using the 'quick add' feature, it gets sorted into the appropriate place - but then if I want to edit that task, I have to manually hunt through all of my tasks in order to find it, long-press and edit it.

This quickly becomes tiresome - are there any plans to be able to search for a task by name, and/or plans to be able to quickly and easily edit a task you've just created using 'quick add'?

Yes to searching. As for editing a task made via quick-add, if that's
what you want, why not open the task edit page? Instead of typing in
the name of the task in the quick-add box, hit the "plus" button with
no text and then start typing. You can change all sorts of properties
at that time.

I was wondering if there's yet a timeframe for when Astrid is expected to have the search function added.

We have not set a timeline exactly for this, but it is in our sights. We are implementing many new features for a premium version of the application.

As a compromise, I might suggesting using tags when you create your tasks, then you can easily access your tags via the Menu > tags option. Additionally, if you sync with RTM and sort your tasks into lists on RTM then they automatically get "tagged" by list name.
