Reinstall grub to a partition on efi system
Scenario: Efi boot. Boot partition on /dev/sda1, controlling grub on /dev/sda2, second distro on /dev/sda5 with grub installed to the partition. Grub on /dev/sda5 becomes faulty. How can I reinstall the grub of /dev/sda5 TO THE PARTITION /dev/sda5 using Boot Repair?
If I go to Advanced Options/Grub Location the section "Separate /boot/efi partition - sda1" is already checked. If I uncheck it I have the option to select "Separate /boot partition - sda5" except that sda5 is NOT a boot partition. There is no information that I can find that tells me what happens if I press 'Apply' in either of these situations. What I think will happen is in the first case that the grub from /dev/sda5 will be written to the mbr and replace the one from /dev/sda2 - this is NOT what I want, I want it installed on partition /dev/sda5 for chainloading purposes. In the second case I am pretty sure that nothing would boot at all.
Is this even possible with Boot Repair?(if it isn't, can you change this from a question to a feature request).
This question is purely hypothetical as I have already solved the problem using grub alone, but I would like to know if it can be done with Boot Repair and if so how.
