Noobie: Appended ~1~

Asked by Jim Bulmer

Please forgive the Noobie question. Using Bazaar Explorer under Windows 7, some files and directories that are not versioned get "~1~" appended to the end of the filename. This makes it inconvenient to open them. Is there a way around this? Thanks!

Hi Jim,

Bazaar adds a ~1~ when it makes a backup of a file, for instance when it's going to delete a modified file or replace it with a versioned file. Normally it shouldn't do this to files that are totally unversioned. If you can describe how to reproduce a problem, we can look at whether that is a bug.
