Account messed up

Asked by Pedro Corá

I am trying to change the mail associated with an account. The account is pcora and every time I go to https://login.launchpad.net I am displayed with an e-mail address that I don't have access anymore. If I choose a different one from the * Preferred E-mail* list and try to update the page, I get the following error every time:

> Sorry, something just went wrong in Launchpad Login Service.
> We’ve recorded what happened, and we’ll fix it as soon as possible. Apologies for the inconvenience.
> (Error ID: 2124canistellaunchpad802)

This is happening for quite sometime. I would like to keep this account and have it associated and able to login using my current e-mail address.

Please let me know if you need more information. :)

Cheers,

Pedro Corá

Looks like an SSO problem. The error ID does not seem to be a Launchpad oops, so an oops search doesn't give us anything. Running to Stuart for help.

I've found the error on the server. It apparently thinks you're trying to add a duplicate email address. So, digging in a little deeper now to see what might be causing that...

Pedro, I only see one address associated with your account in SSO and that address is <email address hidden> . The error log also mentioned <email address hidden>, but I don' see that in the SSO database. Which address is the one you want to use, and which one do you no longer have access to?

Currently I am unable to login to the site using any mail...

I want to keep pcora AT lampnet DOT co

The other one should be removed. :)

Regards,
Pedro

Okay, it looks like the cause of this issue has been found in Bug #862944. Hopefully we'll have a fix released soon.

The list of email addresses for Launchpad is different than the list for SSO, and it appears this may be another side effect of that. You may want to check your addresses in both places.

I can't remove the unwanted address from SSO because it's not even there to remove. If you can't fix it by modifying your Launchpad account, I think we'll have to wait for the SSO bugfix.
