Are there 2 versions of cdrtools available to Gutsy Gibbon users?

Asked by andrew.46

Hi,

I am unsure if there are in fact 2 versions of the cdrtools package available to Gutsy Gibbon users:

1. One version from the Gutsy repository
2. Another version available from the PPA of the Ubuntu Burning Team:

https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-burning/+archive

As background to this question I have read some of the opinions of the original developer:

http://cdrecord.berlios.de/old/private/linux-dist.html

 Some passionate opinion there!

   Thanks for your trouble,

Slight correction:

1. Elements of the cdrtools package are available in the repository: mkisofs, cdrecord and cdda2wav rather than a full package labelled 'cdrtoold'. Is this the Debian 'fork'?

Hi,

All sorted: cdrtools released into gutsy multiverse in components rather than one piece,
