New to Ubuntu, problem updating clamtk
I am cutting my teeth on Ubuntu/Linux and my first obstacle was when I went to update clamtk. The first update check I did said that there were two objects, one was up to date, but the other, "GUI" was not. I followed the link to get the newest version and manged to install it fine. Now I check the update and the two objects that were listed are both up to date, but now there is a third. Now I have the virus engine not being up to date. I have not sen a way to correct this in the download section.
For Ubuntu to be as easy as Windows, the update should have been all inclusive and a little smarter in giving me whatever was needed when I clicked update. Then when I installed the newest version, the last thing I expected to see was that something was missing.
I'm trying to get away from Windows altogether, but either the software that is being written for Linux needs to a a whole lot smarter, or the users have to be a whole lot smarter. The goal of Ubuntu was to make the software smarter, and at least as smart as Windows.
Will fixing my outdated virus engine be a problem? Installing the newest version created this issue, so it is not the cure.
Thanks for any assistance with t his matter.
