Connecting through a corporate LAn
I access the internet through a university LAN. I just dwnloaded DC++ and it has no access to the internet whatsoever. I tried opening the public hubs (every single provided hublist server) and nothing works. I get various error messages that imply that there is no connection.
Furthermore, I tried opening the 'About' box for DC++ and there IS an error checking the Latest version.
Some extra info: I DO have access to the internet through browsers and university programs (i.e groupwise, novelle etc...) but other applications such as MxitPC DC++ and Outlook cannot gain access.
And yes i have checked that DC++ is added as an exception to the Windows firewall thingy. Whats funny is that there is no pop up that asks me if i wanna unblock it. In anycase to be safe i disabled my firewall and still nothing.
Okay another piece of information is that McAfee Enterprise 8.5i is installed. AS far as i can see it has no firewall client. There is definitely no option in its console to suggest it has a firewall. Uhm ja.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
