Shrink images to the size of the desktop

Asked by shaneonabike

Is there anyway to actually configure this tool (which is awesome btw) to resize the image to the size of the current desktop? I have really high-res images that are being displayed and unfortunately I only end up seeing the top corner... :(

Also, a feature suggestion would be that it could provide some auto-rotate functionality... no idea how to do that but it would be cool.

The application doesn’t change the preferences set by your desktop environment. The Gnome appearance dialog is available via System > Preferences > Appearance. There you can easily set the display style. Other desktop environments should provide a similar option.

There remains one problem: You can’t switch the option on a per picture basis. But at the moment I have absolutely no idea how I could implement this in an easy way.

It's interesting b/c just before you wrote back I had tried the same thing. It does seem to maintain the same setting for me. At least if you use 'Fill Screen' setting it does maintain it.
