Running applications from Docky stacks

Is there any convenient way to create something like Apps Stacks from OSX? I want to get rid of apps icons from desktop and gnome panels at all, so i need to aggregate my most used apps somewhere in dock and stacks would be perfect, but scripts and binary files doesn't want to run from stacks at all (absolutely nothing happens).

Docky version 2.1.0 bzr stacks r1540

At the moment that branch is very unpolished. I assume this functionality will appear at some point.
