What is the status of the Dropbox plugin?

I have been waiting for this plugin for awhile, and am wondering if there is a specific reason why it is being held up. It appears that the merge request was submitted over a year ago and is pending approval by the project head.

That plugin was developed by a non-dev user and was abandoned. It never reached a functional state. The devs are not actively working on such a plugin.

Thank you for your response. I suppose I am a little bit disappointed, but maybe I'll tinker around with this in my free time.
