Berkeley DB error installing EasyUbuntu

Asked by mikey

Installed Kubuntu 6.10 edgy. So I have a clean install with no modifications. Downloaded easyubuntu_latest.deb. Attempted to click on the file icon and Arc opened a window. Don't know what to do from there.
Went to documentation and attempted to install via Konsole window.
sudo apt-get install subversion seemed to work okay.
svn checkout svn://freecontrib.org/easyubuntu resulted in the following error:
mikey@kubuntu:~$ svn checkout svn://freecontrib.org/easyubuntu
svn: Berkeley DB error while opening 'nodes' table for filesystem /home/svn/repos/easyubuntu/db:
Cannot allocate memory
svn: bdb: Unable to allocate memory for transaction detail
mikey@kubuntu:~$

Any help appreciated.
Mikey

The svn database has been corrupted, and I'm trying to recover it.
(You dont really want to use subversion anyways)

Try installing by Right Clicking on the deb file, and choose install
from the packages submenu. Then, launch easyubuntu by choosing K-Menu
-> System -> EasyUbuntu.

Hope that helps,
Venkat

Venkat:

Followed your instructions and all seemed to go okay. However, there is no indication anything was installed. I still can't play a DVD. Kaffine says I'm still missing some stuff. I know there are more instructions about multimedia in the Kubuntu desktop docs so I'll go there.

Thanks for the reply.
