Post installation node addition

Asked by Jérémie

Is fuel able to add compute or / and controllers nodes post installation in HA env ?
In fact I'm trying to add a forth controller (in order to remove one of the existing one) and it fails, so I'm asking if it's the right way to do ?
Will I have the same troubles when I'll add computes nodes ?

Thanks in advance.

Greetings Jeremie,
yes, Fuel is capable to add/remove and manage your cluster nodes after a deployment - in 6.1+ it is certified to work at scale up to 200 servers.
We always recommend, for HA reasons in order to avoid split brains, to keep an odd number of controllers.
The right way to substitute a controller is: Mark the old controller for removal, boot and add a new node with a controller role, and then Deploy Changes.
You should be able to add/remove compute nodes also, yes.
What version of Fuel are you using? What error do you hit when trying to replace the controller?

Best regards,
Fabrizio
