Grub message: "get error: no such device"

This message means Grub is unable to locate partition which same UUID as in its configuration file.
The UUID is an identifier like ":a3eaa56b-
The UUID for disk, Windows partition and Linux partitions differs in size.
This kind of issue can arise after installation of a new Ubuntu distribution or after delivery of a new kernel (or an operation which could change UUID of a partition or disk).
The usual solution is to reinstall Grub2 bootloader to force detection of disks and partitions, and rebuild of boot configuration file.
