Gnu GRUB version 1.99-12ubuntu5-1linux-mint1

"Minimal bash-like line editing is supported" on a black screen is all I get on boot.
I re-installed GRUB per instructions by someone in a forum because I lost being able to boot Windows Vista after a Mint Lisa install. I must re-configure it all over again manually, Help.

If you have a grub prompt, then you have a problem with your virtual disk (root.disk):
