dont need colored ink but won't work without cartriges in machine

i have a HP printer 8000 wireless, and i only need to print in black and i don't want to keep ordering colored ink cartriges, but the printer won't print without these color cartridges in the printer. how can I print without using colored ink, none of my print outs have color on them anyway but color cartridges keep runniing out.

If you print black and gray pages without setting print mode, a little of color inks will be used for better quality printing.
If you don't want that, you have to set up manually the greyscale mode. (Even if you print only black pages.)

You can find that settings in System->Administration->Printers. Right click on your printer -> propertyes -> printer settings (left)
Choose to only use the black cartridge.

You may have to put a color ink to your printer, but in this way, it won't be used but you won't be able to print color pages until you'll set it back.

You can configure two printing line for your printer (like for two diff. printers). One for color, and one for black pages.
