Double-side printing

I have an C4680 that works fine on windows, but when i try to printing in both sides of the paper in Linux, don't works. The option is avaliable in HPLIP, but even changing configuration in CUPs doesn't have any effect. Both options, Short or Long Edge, the printing continuos one side only.
I use OpenSUSE 11.4 with Windows XP SP2 in separate partitions, but i do not share the printer between the O.Ss
And have another problem, every time the printer finish the job, she print one extra page, in blank

Hi,

Please can you install the latest hplip-3.11.5. You can find the same at http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web/gethplip.html. The latest hplip-3.11.5 has auto-installation support for OpenSUSE 11.4.
Let us know on the same if the problem still persists.

of hplip-3.11.5 and hplip-hpijs-3.11.5
for 32-bit (i586) and 64-bit (x86_64) architecture
are available from the openSUSE build service
project "Printing" at

http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/Printing/openSUSE_11.4/

The packages are
 * only for testing
 * without any guarantee or warranty
 * without any support

As an extreme example, this means that if your complete computer
center crashes because of these packages, it is only your problem.
On the other hand this does not mean that those packages are known
to be terrible broken but they are not thoroughly tested so that
any unexpected issue can happen.

I did only a quick test on my openSUSE 11.4 x84_64 system
with a HP LaserJet 1020 which prints the test page o.k. and
with a HP LaserJet 1220 which prints and scans o.k. for me
but I don't have a HP printer with duplex unit for testing.

I tryed do use the automatic instalation, but i have an problem:

-error: No output seen in over 300 sec... (Is the CD-ROM/DVD source repository enabled? It shouldn't be!)

I have used the correct password.
i tried to login as a root,the password is correct

duplex unit? i need a duplex unit? i don't have one, but in the windows i print in double side of paper normaly...
the printer print odd pages first and appears a screen saying to turn the pages and then she's print the even pages... Linux driver don't do it?

the CD-rom repository doesn't exist!!

and when i try to run hplip auto installer in superuser mode, he complains... should i continue?

Please remove the printers from UI (HP Device Manager) and then add again.

And for actual Issue, we need few logs and test case to analyze the issue.

1) Please provide all the steps you followed while printing two sided job (Complete Test Case).

2) Please do following things for capturing a log file.
     a)Open /etc/cups/cupsd.conf in root mode and replace

        LogLevel warn

          with

       LogLevel debug
       hpLogLevel 15

    b) Restart cups using following command:
        /etc/init.d/cups restart (in root mode)

    c) Run the failing test case and then send
               /var/log/messages file
       and /var/log/cups/error_log file

    d) Please send the file hpcups_jobNN.out (Most recent file) generated in /tmp directory. where NN is some number.

Hi,

By looking at the device specification, it is found that the device supports only Manual Duplexing. Manual Duplexing feature is not yet supported in Linux. So you wont be able to do double sided printing in Linux. Sorry for the inconvenience caused.
