hplip 3.11.5 causes xsane seg fault

Asked by Gabriele Coletta

Hi everybody!
I have upgraded hplip from 3.11.1 to 3.11.5 on my Debian Wheezy.
Now xsane doesn't work properly. It crashes with segmentation fault, sometime at start, sometime when I launch a scan.
Also libsane-hpaio was upgraded from 3.11.1 to 3.11.5.

hp-check -t: http://pastebin.com/DYZR3Q1c

Thank a lot. Bye!

Hello,

From the log attached "hp-check -t", it came to notice for me.

   1. Installed version is HP Linux Imaging and Printing System (ver. 3.10.6)
   2. Many required dependecies are missing. (e.g. Checking for dependency: SANE - Scanning library development files...
error: NOT FOUND! This is a REQUIRED/COMPILE TIME ONLY dependency. Please make sure that this dependency is installed before installing or running HPLIP.)

Please ensure that the missing dependecies should be installed and install the latest version hplip-3.11.5. After installation please run "hp-check -t" and post the output.

Regards,
Sarbeswar

Please upgrade to 3.11.5 ( from the log it seems to be installed version of hplip is 3.10.6) and install the all the missing dependencies. Then post the output of hp-check and try scanning.
