Laserjet 1600 to be supported?

Asked by Andy Leeman

Hi, I see on https://answers.launchpad.net/hplip/+question/1271 that there was the possibility that this printer could be added. Anybody know if it is going to be supported? It's an extremely cheap and well reviewed printer. Here in Canada, Staples is selling it for $199.99. I want to get one, but have only Ubuntu machines in my home.

Yes, it will be added in the very near future. Meanwhile, there is an
opensource driver
foo2zjs. It is included in Ubuntu distributions.
