No colour printing on B110a

Asked by Mark Fairbairn

Have a B110a printer using on Opensuse 12.1 64bit.
Installed HPLIP is 3.11.12-48
Ghostscript 9.04-66.1

I am unable to print in colour. No matter the setting prints in grayscale only.

I have heard that there are known issues with colour printing in Ghostscript 9.04 but that this was supposed to be fixed as of 9.04-5

I am using 9.04-6 and still have no colour printing.
Reverting to Ghostscript 9.00 I get colour printing back but have other problems / issues with this version of ghostscript as discussed in https://answers.launchpad.net/hplip/+question/176976

Thanks Sanjay
Currently there is no rpm on the HP website for Opensuse 12.1. However, the version of HPLIP I have installed from the Opensuse build service is the same as the latest HPLIP release. Would testing with this version be OK?

Sanjay Kumar,
what is wrong with our ready-made HPLIP 3.11.12 RPM packages
from the openSUSE build service project "Printing"
compared to your HPLIP 3.11.12 from hplipopensource.com ?

Hi Johannes,

The problem with the HPLIP RPMs is that the required dependencies will not get installed automatically however with HPLIP auto installer all dependencies will get installed.

Thanks,
Sanjay

Which required dependencies are missing to be installed
when the openSUSE HPLIP RPMs are installed?

On my system "hp-check -r -t" results in hp-check.log

Well, in this case all required dependencies are installed. But instead of assuming that all dependencies are installed or asking hp-check output for the same its better to check and install the missing required dependencies with auto installer and then collect the logs if issue is not resolved even after that.

thanks Sanjay. Sorry - I should not have said rpm. What I meant was that in the download link you provide the latest version of Opensuse noted with a download link is 11.4. There is no download link for Opensuse 12.1

I'll run the tests in the next day or so and post the information.

Thanks again.
