Please help me configure my DeskJet 1120c. hp-setup says it fails to find any printers. If I tell hp-setup to search a second time, it freezes.
I was successful using YaST (I am using SuSE 12.1) to set up a gutenprint queue. This works, although not the greatest print quality. However, if I run hp-setup, then the gutenprint driver loses communication with the printer and holds the print jobs until I reboot.
In /var/log/warn, running hp-setup produces:
Sep 22 21:04:25 linux-vuwq python: io/hpmud/model.c 532: no DESKJET_1120C attributes found in /usr/share/
Sep 22 21:04:25 linux-vuwq python: io/hpmud/model.c 543: no DESKJET_1120C attributes found in /usr/share/
Sep 22 21:04:25 linux-vuwq python: io/hpmud/pp.c 1242: ignoring hp:/par/
Sep 22 21:04:25 linux-vuwq hp-setup: hp-setup[4965]: error: No devices found on bus: par
Yet, I can open /usr/share/

Note: hp-check can be run in three modes:
1. Compile-time check mode (-c or --compile): Use this mode before compiling the
HPLIP supplied tarball (.tar.gz or .run) to determine if the proper dependencies
are installed to successfully compile HPLIP.
2. Run-time check mode (-r or --run): Use this mode to determine if a distro
supplied package (.deb, .rpm, etc) or an already built HPLIP supplied tarball
has the proper dependencies installed to successfully run.
3. Both compile- and run-time check mode (-b or --both) (Default): This mode
will check both of the above cases (both compile- and run-time dependencies).
