Trying to download 3.15.7 via the following URI fails with BAD REQUEST: http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web/install/install/index.html

Asked by Tony Bennett

I currently am using HPLIP 3.15.6 on an Ubuntu 14.04 32-bit system.

I tried to download 3.15.7 via the "download" button on http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web/install/install/index.html, and it gives a response page of "BAD REQUEST"...
Specifically this is what is on the response page:

ERROR

The request could not be satisfied.

Bad request.

The URI for that page was: http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/hplip/hplip-3.15.7.run

Additionally, In case it will help you solve the problem, when using "hp-upgrade" on my Ubuntu 14.04 system, It displays:
"error: Failed to connect to HPLIP site. Error code = 8"
When I respond "y" to this question "continue to upgrade HPLIP-3.15.7?",
I then get this error:
"error: Digital signature verification failed for the file /home/braylon/Downloads/hplip-3.15.7.run. File may have been
      corrupted or altered"

Sourceforge site is down. Some of its project links are not working. They are working on it. Till this get resolved you can download the latest hplip 3.15.7 driver from here http://downloads.sourceforge.net/project/hplip/hplip/3.15.7/hplip-3.15.7.run
