Asked by ken

I have an HP Laser Jet Pro 200 color MFP . It requires a proprietary driver down load. When I click on the install plugin from the HP device manager it asks for the root password. When I put the root password doesn't accept it. I am the administrator and I can SU from the command line. What is it looking for better yet how can I download the needed Plug-in ?

Hi Ken,

Can you please download and intall the latest hplip-3.15.7. You can download the file 'hplip-3.15.7.run' from http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web/gethplip.html.

Run command 'sh hplip-3.15.7.run ' in terminal to install the package.
After install , you can run command 'hp-setup -r' to remove the existing print queue for this printer and run command 'hp-setup' to configure the new print queue for this printer.

To install plugin files, run command 'hp-plugin' in terminal.

The latest hplip-3.15.7 should resolve this problem.

Thanks,
goutam
