Problems installing HPLIP

Hey --

I have an HP Deskjet 2512 which I am trying to get to work with a Dell Dimension 7700 running Linux Mint 13 Maya Mate 3.2.0-23 generic. I think the driver downloaded OK, but am not quite sure how to check that, and the installation wizard is proving very hard to work.

Any advice you might be able to give me on this would be greatly appreciated.
