laserjet 3050 prints 2 of everything

Asked by Larry

I have installed the newest HPLIP dirvers and Gutenprint and no matter which driver of 4 offered for this printer they all print 2 of everything. I am using linux mint. I also ran hp-check -t and there were no errors but there was one warning and it said the following: warning: Printer is not HPLIP installed. Printers must use the hp: or hpfax: CUPS backend for HP-Devices.
I have installed HPLIP, so I don't know what this warning means.

Also, after awhile of using CUPS it quit working. now all I get is the Home page and if I click on any of the other menus like, Administration or Printers I get the following error: Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at localhost:631. So now I can't use it. I think it's wanting a password but it's not asking for one.

This is really frustrating, I hope someone can help.

Thanks

Hi ,

Please restart cups service. Run command 'sudo service cups restart' in
terminal to do the same .

Run command 'hp-setup' in terminal to configure the
printer.

Let us know if you are able configure the printer and print.

If the issue still present , provide us hp-check command output.

Thanks,
Goutam
