When printing from SAP, it prints the odd pages first, then after 10 minutes of delay, it prints the even pages. This only happens when printing from SAP, not on other apps. SAP Support recommended to contact HP Support.

Asked by Mack Perry Co

Hello. I have raised this printing issue to HP Support from the recommendation of the SAP Support I'm in contact with. We have this HP LaserJet Enterprise M612 that is currently stationed in an office in Springfields, UK. This printer is mostly used to print Goods Receipt from our SAP system, and the issue is it always prints with the odd pages first, then after 5-10 minutes of delay, it prints the even pages. This issue only occurs when printing from SAP, not on other applications, e.g. MS Word.

The previous printer, HP LaserJet 600 M602, stationed previously in this office did not have this issue as per end users. The issue only started when it was replaced with this new HP LaserJet Enterprise M612.

We initially thought this behavior is from a duplex printing setting from SAP side, but we already tried changing the printer configurations on our SAP system for this printer by setting it to simplex, changing the device type, disabling duplex, but it is still printing in this behavior.

The SAP Support recommended reaching out to HP Support, and the HP Support agents redirected us here to HPLIP, since our SAP system is hosted on a SUSE Linux Enterprise Server SP15, and the print jobs from SAP are handled by CUPS. The SAP Support also mentioned something about having the datastream checked and if HP finds an error in the SAP datastream to please provide the detailed technical analysis from HP.
