Error message asks to reseat printer cartridge.

Asked by Norm Weber

I just purchased the HP Office Jet 6500. I have had it for five days, but have not been able to use it yet. I keep getting a message that says, re-seat printhead and that the printhead is missing. Problem is that the printhead is not missing and that the printhead was seated per instruction sheet, which incidentally is poorly written, offering only pictures more suited for a children's picture book, instead of spelling out in plain English. Then it gives a message about a paper jam. Problem is that I never put any paper anywhere near the printer. Worse yet, I did not purchase this devise for the purpose of printing yet that issue is preventing me from doing anything with it.
