hpijs driver

Asked by juergen

I have a HP5510 shared on a WindowsXP machine and want print to this printer from a Linux machine (Slitaz 2.0 cocking) with HPLIP and samba installed. On http://hplipopensource.com/node/219 it says "This configuration is unsupported currently in HPLIP. To print in this configuration, use HPIJS only and the SAMBA backend (smb:)". When I try to find HPIJS I always get redirected to the download page for HPLIP. Where can I get HPIJS and how to install it in Slitaz?

Many thanks!
Juergen

Hi Juergen,

Slitaz Linux is not supported by HPLIP automatic installer.
You can follow the instructions for manual install: http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web/install/manual/distros/other.html

For HPIJS you need to add these configure flags:
 --enable-hpijs-only-build --enable-hpijs-install

For all of the configure options:

./configure --help

Hope it helps.
