PTBatcherGUI not stitching

Asked by Vin

I am a long-time user of Hugin which usually works just fine.
Usually, after doing "Create panorama" in Hugin and picking file names, the PTBatcherGUI would open, with both a small 'batch processor' window, and a larger window showing all the work being done.

Recently, however, the larger window with all the output lines is not opening, and instead, the small Batch Processor window is just displaying at the bottom "Running batch..." and nothing happens: it just remains stuck indefinitely with this "running batch" notice.

Any idea what may have happened?
Thanks a lot!

Yes, I had checked these documents before: cleaning the batch queue does not change anything. And running the batch processor from Hugin doesn't change anything either, since PTBatcherGUI *DOES* run the batch (it displays "running batch..." at the bottom of the small processor window) but nothing happens beyond that.

To see the verbose messages you need to activate the verbose option in PTBatcherGUI.

Yes, the verbose is activated. But the point is, that ultimately, no image file is created. The batch processor stays stuck on « Running batch… » forever with nothing else happening

Because you are on Mac OS (just guessing) you may give Hugin, PTBatcherGui, and HuginStitchProject full access in Disc Permissions.
(see e.g. https://groups.google.com/g/hugin-ptx/c/LKv7r8pxZCY/m/Z9E88J84AgAJ )

Mmm, so I indeed have a MacBook Pro 16" from 2019, and I have now gone to System Preferences -> Security&Privacy -> tab "Privacy" and added both Hugin and PTBatcherGUI in the "Full Disk Access" list.
But nothing changes: PTBatcherGUI still just writes "Running Batch" and nothing else...
This is super frustrating because I have been using Hugin on his very same computer for over a year and this issue just came up now out of the blue...

If this helps, this is what I'm seeing when doing "create panorama":

OK, the problem is solved.
For reference, in case anyone encounters the same problem, I have noticed that this happens when the folder in which the images are stored included special accented letters (ê, ï, etc.). Renaming the corresponding folders with unaccented letters solved the issue...
