Adding nodes at an exact location along a complex path

Asked by Dominic Pearson

Scenario:

You have a complex path such as a curved line with multiple inflexions.

You wish to add a node at an exact point (say, point "X") along the path of that line.

Is this possible?

I know you can, for example, highlight the nodes either side of X and click "+" on the node toolbar to add a node halfway between the highlighted nodes, but this isn't the same UNLESS you could slide the new node along the path of the line to point X - easy if the line is straight horizontal or vertical, but difficult otherwise.

Just double-click at X.

Thank you.

Is it also possible to "slide" the new node along (i.e. sticking to) the existing path?

No, unfortunately that's not possible at present.

Can you help with this problem?
