can inkscape oper .eps files ?

hi, i need to open .eps vector files, does inkscape support this, and if so how?

To open EPS files in Inkscape you need to have Ghostscript installed. You can get Ghostscript from http://www.ghostscript.com/

Once you've installed Ghostscript, you will need to add the Ghostscript bin and lib directories to your system Path. How to do that will depend on what operating system you are using - if you're using Windows XP, see my instructions in question 108767: https://answers.launchpad.net/inkscape/+question/108767
