I can´t export documents to PDF, EPS or JPG

Asked by Claudia de Gonzalez

I am changching from PC to Mac, that´s the reason I need Inkscape. In Freehand, I can export to a lot of formats, including PDF, EPS and JPG, these are the formats that I use the most. But in Inkscape I can´t find the way to do it, only to PNG. Is it a way to export to these formats?
My system is OS X version 10.8.3, Inkscape 0.48
Thanks for your help. If you can guide in Spanish language, I´ll appreciate.

It's not really a bug, thus I'm converting your report to a question (handled in the Answers section of the Launchpad site).

The File>Export command works for PNG format only. That's the only bitmap format Inkscape supports, but you can use an external tool (eg Gimp) to convert from PNG to JPG.
As for PDF and EPS, you'll find them in the File>Save As dialog.

Also see the linked bug reports and the Export and Save As reorganisation blueprint.

Clients often require layered PDF and layered EPS files for further edition. I think Inkscape is not prepared to produce such files, nor do Inkscape`s PDF and EPS files support raster effects such as transparency, blur, shadows, bevels, etc. ( which is a norm in other apps ). PITY :(((

Can you help with this problem?
