User interface-menu items

When I select a menu item, the text disappears (white on white text?)
Is this normal?

What version of Inkscape and What Operating System are you using?
From a guess, you are using windows vista?

Yes, Vista, and Inkscape 0.45.1.

This was a recognised bug, and has been fixed...
You will see the changes in the upcoming 0.46 release, or you can download
one of the nightly windows builds....
