Inkscape generated PDF file won't show on Mac OS X Preview

Asked by Pierre Fortier

Hi!

I have found out about Inkscape last fall. I have a problem I wish someone could help me solve.
I want to create a poster in Inkscape on my Mac, save my work as a PDF file that I would then print from a Wintel box at work.
In order to see if that can be done, I draw a few circles in Inkscape and save them in a PDF file on my computer. I then open that file with Preview, a PDF file reader. Preview shows me a blank page. What do I do wrong?
I'm using: a 2.16 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo iMac running Mac OS X 10.4.8, Inkscape 0.45.1 and Preview 3.0.8 (409).

Thank you in advance for any tip that lead to a solution

PDF import and export have been revamped for the upcoming 0.46 release. Try a recent development version of inkscape to check out the great new PDF features...
here is the relevant section in the release notes about PDF import and export...
