nodes not appearing

Asked by andrea k

Some of the shapes in a design show their nodes just fine, but other shapes do not.

Why is this happening and how can I get them to show?

Thanks.

I have worked with overlapping nodes and am glad to read the note about the bug. That makes more sense now.

However, what is happening here is different. All nodes show on some shapes. No nodes show on other shapes.

Is there a way to upload a file here for people to see what I'm talking about?

Also - All nodes appeared on all shapes in the past. Maybe some setting got changed by accident?

Help please! This is holding me back on a project that needs to move forward.

Launchpad's Answer section unfortunately doesn't support attachments or uploads: you could use a service like Dropbox, or a free image hosting site with SVG support like <http://imgh.us/> or <http://imagebin.org/>, and share the link to the uploaded file here.

What kind of shapes are affected? Select such affected shapes individually (with the select tool <F1>) and read the message in the status bar: it will provide information about the object type, among other things.

~suv - You got me on the right track. I checked the bottom. The shapes that have nodes said Path, the ones w/out said polygon. So, I changed polygon by clicking on "shape to path" and now they have nodes. Thanks!
