As a start, I suggest you take a look at the tutorials which are included in the software. You will find them in the menu: Help -> Tutorials .
They will probably answer your question and give you more insight into the program's terminology, so you will then be able to look up specific questions (which you will certainly have at one point or other).

Also, you can find a lot of info in the FAQ at https://www.inkscape.org (I suggest reading the first part for absolute beginners to get a feeling for what a vector graphic is) and in the manual:

There is also a lot of great documentation about Inkscape on the web. There are even complete courses on youtube ;-)

If you need a resource for your crowns - if you don't want to draw them yourself - you could take a look at openclipart.org, which is a website / project which has lots of public domain vector clip arts (licence-free, no fees) contributed by many people from around the world.

This type of support, from other Inkscape users, can often come quicker, and contain more detail, than you might get here.

I keep a huge list of tutorials on my site: http://forum.inkscapecommunity.com/index.php I know of one that shows how to draw a cartoon style crown, here: http://tuts.ahninniah.graphics/inkscape-tutorials-how-to-draw-a-crown/. I don't know of any tutorials for drawing a realistic crown, and if realism is what you need, you'll want to set aside some time, follow Maren's advice above, and start to learn Inkscape on your own. But there are many different styles of drawing, and it may be that you just need something simple, that you can learn in a half hour.
