Inkscape 0.91 gradient editor not appearing

I'm trying out the new v0.91 inkscape, and the gradient editor doesn't appear when I select a gradient and click the "edit" button below. Nothing at all happens - not sure what is supposed to happen, but in older versions a window appeared in which gradients could be edited.

I know about on-canvas editing, but I would very much prefer to have the window. Also, given the presence of the button, one might reasonably expect that a window was in fact intended ;-)

The gradient editor is no longer in a separate dialog, in 0.91. You can find all the controls on the tool control bar, now :-)

The problem with the tool control bar is if you have multiple objects on the same gradient. If you edit one from the toolbar it will create a new one. Instead of modifying the base gradient, which would change all of the gradients of the objects. I am still trying to figure out how to modify the base gradient, so I don't have to edit the gradient object by object.

Actually I figured it out, when I click the edit gradient button. There is another button in the toolbar that is a lock that works.
