How do I delete old files on Inkscape?

How do I delete old files on Inkscape? When I right click on a particular file that is stored in Inkscape it just opens with no option to delete the file.

Currently you can't do it in an easy one-click way like in GIMP.

List of documents is stored in ~/.inkscape/preferences.xml inside

  <group
     id="documents">
    <group
       id="recent">

You can try deleting manually all items like

      <document
         uri="/home/avp/.inkscape/icons/icons.svg"
         name="icons.svg" />

in your favorite text editor.

i would really like a answer on how to delete an inkscape document there must be a simple process but it escapes me how to find out also i have similar problem with gimp!
