Calligraphy tool

Asked by sairam

Hello,

a newbie here.

I am trying to use the calligraphy tool. When its selected, the cursor changes to the typical calligraphy cursor, but when I try to write something, I am not able to see the stroke or whatever I was writing.

For eg: When I drag the cursor to make 'S' I can see a tail-like line coming from the upper '+' of the calligraphy cursor and thats all, no line is seen.

I have dloaded the 0.46 version of Inkscape and the X11 on my Mac is 2.1.1 (updated version)

ANy help would be appreciated.

need it urgently.

thanks

SJ

it sounds like the fill/stroke of the callig tool is white or transparent...

draw a line with the callig tool on a new document, then select all, if an
object is selected, change the colour and see your line!

im not sure what you mean by 'undo'
the fill / stroke of a tool depends on the settings for that tool in the
inkscape prefs.

Hello Ryan,

Thanks for the prompt reply.

Sorry if the Q was confusing.

What i meant was how do i define a color for fill/stroke.

When I went to Inkscape prefs>shapes>caligraphy tool> this tools own style is 'Selected' and fill =none and stroke = some grey squares and a brick red color (# 389) .

When I try to change the color by clicking on 'none' or from the button 'take from selection'----nothing happens.

I am sure that I am doing something wrong!

How can I cahnge the color for fill/stroke?

regards

SJ

the best way is probably to keep "last used style" selected,
and then just edit your objects using the fill / stoke dialog.
(object > fill stroke) from the menus
