How do I draw an circle with the exact diameter of 6 cm?

Hi Can You tell me how to draw a circle with the exact diameter of 6 cm? Please instruct me detailied from start to end of drawing this circle. And in general how do I draw a circle?
  When I click on the draw a circle, ellipse etc. and I then go to the paper and click on the left on button of the mouse and drag an then only 2 small squares and a small circle appears and they are all 3 bound together by a perforated larger square. Thanks Per

Draw a circle of any size. (Use the ellipse tool and hold down the CTRL key as you draw.) From your description, it sounds like you have both the stroke and fill colors set to EMPTY. To fix this, select your phantom object, select the eyedropper tool, and click on one of the color chips at the bottom of the screen.
Select the circle and then Object - Transform
Under the scale tab, choose cm as the unit and check the box to scale proportionally.
Type 6 into either the width or the height box. Select Apply

I, too, have trouble drawing a circle. Meaning that I want a LINE with no fill shaped round. All I am able to get (so far) is a filled-in circle (which I would term a "disk") or, if I set fill to white, then nothing is visible (on a white background).
