how can I use the eraser function

I can not find the eraser command or button. Your help will be appreciated.

Inkscape uses vector graphics, not raster pixel editing. All objects remain and can simply be erased by selecting them and hitting delete.

Use the Selector/Arrow tool to select an object. Then delete.

(however, for specialized needs a new tool is being worked on for the next revision. But vector graphics are different)

Thank you for your answer but it refers to deleting an object. I need to delet only part of an object or shape.
