What is the maximum size(kb)of svg file that can be imported on inkscape?

The svg files of size 500kb can be imported into Adobe Illustrator10.But they can't be imported to inkscape.

You probably have a malformed SVG file that is not correctly parsed. Maybe illustrator is more permissive with malformed SVGs and that's why it lets you open it.
I have SVG files of several sizes and never had problems to open them in inkscape, so I don't think this is a size problem.
