I love Inkscape but after 1 hour it has slowed right down and is unusable, my graphics card is good; what can I do. I would like to contribute professional images to a free resource; how can I do this?

Asked by Robert Loosemore

Everything has slowed down - minutes to move and for dialog boxes to disappear. I am willing to spend money on this great program if I can get it to work Pleas can someone help?

Don't spend your money. Fill a bug in th right place providing information about your computer specs, your operating system and the version of inkscape that you're using. That will help :)

Thank you Gez. My OS is XP pro version 2002, Windows NT Service pack 3. with Intel(R) CPU 2.66GHz. and 1GB ram. It has 1533mb paging file and the Inscape version is 0.46, just uploaded from the web. I cleaned up my system a bit now, but the program goes 'not responding' almost immediately now. Does this help

Your computer specs are enough to run inkscape without problems, so probably you've bumped with a bug.
Please fill a bug report (use the Bugs tab on the top of this page and describe your problem, your system and steps to reproduce this behavior if applies).
This place is intended for general questions about the program, not bug reports.

Can you help with this problem?

Provide an answer of your own, or ask Robert Loosemore for more information if necessary.
