Inkscape: drawing board pen freezezez on drawing area

Asked by rachel

Working with Bamboo Fun drawing pad I encountered 2 problems.
a. the pen does not function at all in the Inkscape drawing area.
I have tried re-installing the drawing pad driver. It did not help.

b. Whil using the caligraphy pen and other instruments I get invisible lines and/or area, no color at all. Nothing.

Thank you,
Rachel

Rachel, check the fill dialog.
Sometimes when the last time you set the fill opacity it was in alpha=0%, you get invisible paths the next time you draw something.

You should also take a look in the input devices settings. You have to select the right device and the area (screen or window) and the appropriate button settings.

Gez.

Thank you Guillermo,
I will check and re-check the opacity.
But -
what do i do with the pen and drawing tablet which freezes every time it
goes into an Inkscape document?
I work both with a regular mouse and a Wacom Bumboo fun tablet. The mouse
functions in all cases.
The pen and tablet which works with other drawing and painting software,
does not function when it comes to Inkscape, it stops reacting.

Best
Rachel

If it freezes it is probably a bug. And if the tablet work fine in other apps, it is likely to be an inkscape bug.
Check the bug tracker for a report of a similar issue or file one if you can't find one that fits to your problem.
Don't forget to state your operating system and inkscape version.

Can you help with this problem?
