working with pages

Asked by Sil Falqueto

Hi all!
I am doing a work which uses both sides of the paper, like pages. So I need front and back pages to coincide perfectly while printing. I tried to do this by hand, trying to fit this with guides, but it didn't work well. Do inkscape has some function that deals with this? Or is there another program more suitable for this job?
(One small detail: I won't print this on my printer, I'll take this to a printing office, where they use corel draw. I took the pngs of the pages I made and asked the designer to do this for me, but he told me to take him the cdr files, but I would like to take the whole stuff just ready to print, as I don't trust his work....)

Not at the moment. But it was proposed as a feature for the future.
Meanwhile you can use layers (CTRL+SHIFT+L opens the layers dialog).
Using two layers (maybe three, one on top with the guides and activating the snapping in the documents settings) should help.
For the printing issue, it will be hard if they only use cdr format. I'd try exporting the two pages and PNG with cropping marks, then converting the two PNGs into PDF using the imagemagick convert command
For instance, if you have 2 pages (page1.png and page2.png)

convert page*.png document.pdf

It will create a multipage pdf with both images embedded. Should work.
Of course, remember to export the png files in print resolution (commonly 300 dpi)
