Inkscape says that my runtime has runout and closes. I can open it again, but most times will crash almosst instantly

Asked by musicmaxster

I have windows vista, and Inkscape works, but sometimes crashes for no apparent reason. It says Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Runtime Error!
Program C:\Program Files\Inkscape\Inkscape.exe
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
Please contact the application's support team for more information.

Then as soon as I hit "OK" another window comes up as says:

Inkscape encountered an internal error and will close now.

I don't know why this is happening. Can you help me? It tends to happen when I'm trying to open a file from my main folder.

That looks like a bug. You should use the "Bugs" section to report it.
First use the search function and look for a similar bug. If you find a similar bug, add your information, if there isn't a similar bug create a new report.
Specify what version of inkscape are you running, in which operating system and give all the details you can to help to track the origin of the problem.

This section is intended for usage questions and not for reporting bugs.

How do I fix this problem? Mine is also giving a "runtime" error.

Can you help with this problem?
