Corrupted .svg file MacOSX 10.11.6 using inkscape 0.91 on Xquartz X11 2.7.11

Asked by Matt Pianko

Hello,

I recently made a SVG file, however I have been unable to reload the file, and I am receiving an error message when trying to open the file within Inkscape "Failed to load the requested file /Users/mattpianko/Desktop/CCR Review - Heme Immunotherapy/Fig1.svg".

I have tried to recover this and open from a previously saved version/backup file, however, I receive the same message and can't open the file. I am able to open the .svg file in GIMP, however it imports it as a single layer.

Can you help me recover my image?

I must have inadvertently renamed a .png file as a .svg file without realizing it.
I found a file with a different name that actually contains the graphics I thought I had lost. Thank you for trying to help me!
