sinusoidal grating in a circle

Hi, I would like to create a circle that contains a sinusoidal grating that moves from black to white, from white to black ect with a certain frequency. the transition from white to black, from black to white ect must be nuanced. thanks

I don't know if I understand your question, but it seems like you need to use the gradient editor tool.
First draw the circle, then select the gradient tool (G key), click and drag on the circle to create a new gradient.
It will create a gradient from color to full transparency.
You can select the end stop and change it's color and opacity.
Then, you can add new stops to the gradient double clicking on the gradient indicator.
