Tabbed pages like in CorelDraw

Asked by Jacques du Plessis

Feature request: CorelDraw has tabs at the bottom of the page (like spreadsheets). This feature allows to collect more than one drawing in the same file. This is a very powerful feature and I strongly recommend it to be considered. This feature is the strongest reason why I use Corel Draw. If Inkscape had it, I would switch and also migrate all my classes to Inkscape on the spot.

You can emulate tabs by using master layers and having what would be your layers as sub layers. To switch tab then you would lock and make invisible the current layer and then unlock and make visible the layer you wish to work on.

Tabs have been suggested as a blueprint, you could add your input there.

Also, this is strictly a "bug" entry, feature requests are considered along with bugs ("issues" is a better name IMO). You should search out a feature request and add your input, or if there is none yet you could add one.

Developers sometimes don't have access to the software you mention so you could usefully describe the workings of the CD tabs, what's good what isn't and provide images. A feature focussed video could work well for this. Particularly in your position you could do an ad-hoc survey of your classes and find a range of responses to the tabs and summarise this as a change proposal (blueprint).

The multiple pages feature has already been requested in the Bugs section, which is the proper place to this kind of requests.

Can you help with this problem?
